The namesake restaurant for renowned Louisville Chef John Varanese, located at 2106 Frankfort Ave in the Historic Clifton neighborhood. Once a vintage service station, Varanese is one of the most unique dining destinations in the South. Award-winning Chef Varanese creates eclectic, contemporary dishes that are a fusion of traditional, old-world recipes and New American Cuisine. Varanese is known for its culinary creativity as well as his dedication to local farmers who provide the freshest local products as showcased in many of his signature dishes. An extensive wine list and nightly specials are offered in addition to the regular menu.
Open late for dinner with live jazz seven days a week, the restaurant comfortably seats 150 guests between its bar, dining room, and Four Seasons Patio. The Four Seasons Patio of Varanese is an addition to the building, which has a dramatic 20-foot slate water wall. The space is enclosed by a serpentine of glass doors, which retract to offer an outdoor dining experience. Additionally, Varanese offer private party rooms for groups from 10 to 80 and more!
